TRT for Weight Loss in Dubai
TRT for weight loss is simple with Dr Felix's personal care. There is no testosterone sold as a fat burner, no confusion about whether low testosterone or excess weight came first, and your plan protects muscle while fat comes off.
Your first visit includes testosterone, free testosterone, body composition and your weight history. Dr Felix shows you whether a weight plan, TRT or both fit your results.

Cause and effect sorted
Excess weight lowers testosterone. Dr Felix checks whether your level is low because of the weight or on its own.
Fat lost, muscle kept
In men with low testosterone, the plan aims at losing fat while keeping muscle.
Hormones and weight, one doctor
This is a personal practice. Dr Felix Happich, German-trained and licensed by the Dubai Health Authority, manages both himself.

What does TRT for weight loss include?
TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) for weight loss with Dr Felix includes 6 parts. Testosterone is part of the plan only for men with a confirmed deficiency, always together with a weight plan.
- Testosterone: fasting between 8 and 10 in the morning, on two separate days.
- Free testosterone: measured by equilibrium dialysis, because excess weight lowers the carrier protein SHBG.
- Body composition: fat mass, muscle mass and waist, not only body weight.
- Blood sugar and heart: HbA1c, cholesterol and blood pressure.
- Sleep: snoring and daytime sleepiness, because severe sleep apnoea worsens on testosterone.
- Weight plan: nutrition, strength training and weight loss medication when there is a medical reason.

Does TRT help with weight loss?
TRT helps men with low testosterone lose fat instead of muscle, but it is not a weight loss treatment on its own. In a trial of 100 men with obesity and low testosterone on a very low calorie diet, men on testosterone lost 2.9 kg more fat than men on placebo and regained the muscle lost during the diet (BMC Medicine, 2016).
Men on placebo lost both fat and muscle. Belly fat around the organs also fell more with testosterone.
Is low testosterone causing my weight gain?
More often, weight gain lowers testosterone, not the other way round. Excess weight lowers SHBG, the protein that carries testosterone, so total testosterone drops while free testosterone often stays normal.
Severe obesity, a body mass index above 40, also lowers the brain signals to the testes. Weight loss reverses both effects. A review of 24 studies found higher total and free testosterone after diet or weight loss surgery (European Journal of Endocrinology, 2013).
What happens after the first visit?
After the first visit, weight and testosterone are reviewed on one schedule. Body composition is measured at every review, so the plan tracks fat and muscle separately.
- Within 2 weeksSecond morning testosterone and free testosterone
- Results visitDiagnosis, then a weight plan with or without TRT
- Every 4 to 8 weeksWeight, waist, body composition and side effects
- After 3 monthsTestosterone retested, because weight loss raises it
What else protects muscle during weight loss?
Protein and strength training protect muscle during weight loss with or without TRT. Five daily habits support fat loss and keep muscle.
- Protein: eat protein at every meal.
- Strength training: train two or more times a week.
- Steps: walk every day, especially after meals.
- Sleep: sleep seven hours or more, because short sleep raises appetite.
- Alcohol: cut back, because alcohol adds calories and lowers testosterone.

More questions about TRT for weight loss
What does TRT for weight loss cost?
The cost of TRT for weight loss depends on the blood tests you need and which treatments become part of your plan. You get the full cost in the consultation before anything starts.
Does TRT make me lose weight on its own?
No. Testosterone changes what you lose, more fat and less muscle, but the weight loss itself comes from diet, activity and, where there is a medical reason, weight loss medication.
Why is my testosterone low if I am overweight?
Excess weight lowers SHBG, the protein that carries testosterone, so the total level reads low. Free testosterone often stays normal, and weight loss raises total testosterone again.
Is TRT safe if I am overweight?
Yes, with checks. Severe untreated sleep apnoea, common with excess weight, is treated first, and the haematocrit is checked, because testosterone raises it.
