In short

The Sexual Health Membership with Dr Felix is ongoing care for sexual problems that need more than one prescription: problems in more than one area, both partners affected, or a tablet that has already failed. It follows 5 steps in a fixed order, from full assessment to medicine last, with scheduled reviews in Dubai Healthcare City.

Treatment Overview

Who is the Sexual Health Membership for?

The Sexual Health Membership is for people with sexual problems in more than one area, couples where both partners have a difficulty, and people for whom a prescription alone has not worked. Low desire often comes with arousal problems or pain, and erectile dysfunction often comes with early ejaculation or low desire. A single consultation fits one clear problem: ED consultation.

What are the 5 steps of the membership?

The Sexual Health Membership follows 5 steps in a fixed order, with medicine last. The order makes it clear what works.

The 5 steps of the Sexual Health Membership
Step What it involves
1. Full assessment Every current problem identified before any treatment, then ranked
2. Goals Your goals, set at the start and used to judge progress
3. Related conditions Pain, incontinence, anaemia, mood, hormones and medicine effects treated
4. Non-drug treatment Counselling, sex therapy or pelvic floor physiotherapy where they fit
5. Medicine Tablets or hormones when the criteria are met and the first steps have not been enough

Why is pain treated first?

Pain is treated first because successful treatment of pain with sex often improves desire, arousal and orgasm at the same time. Desire is reassessed after the pain has settled, not before. Women’s concerns in detail: women’s sexual health.

Why is the partner part of the plan?

The partner is part of the plan because one partner’s sexual problem affects the other partner’s sexual function. Men whose partners have no sexual difficulty recover erectile function more often. Common goals, better communication and treatment of the partner’s own problem are part of the treatment. Attendance of the partner is welcome and never a condition of care. When changes in desire strain the relationship: relationship strain from libido changes.

What does sex therapy involve?

Sex therapy is a structured treatment with specific content, not open-ended conversation. Sex therapy and couples counselling are effective and safe.

  • Education: how the sexual response works, which corrects many false expectations
  • Cultural and religious concerns: addressed openly, often the part that makes the rest possible
  • Different levels of desire: a frequency both partners accept
  • Sensate focus: touch exercises that take the pressure off intercourse and orgasm
  • Vaginal dilators: highly effective for pain from a tight pelvic floor, taught by a pelvic floor physiotherapist

When is each part reviewed?

Each part of the plan is reviewed on its own schedule, set out in the table.

Review points in the Sexual Health Membership
What When
Erection tablets After 4 to 8 attempts
Pain treatment After 6 to 8 weeks, then desire reassessed
Medicine change After 4 to 6 weeks, for sexual function and the original condition
Testosterone At 3 months, then every 6 to 12 months
Overall plan A formal review of whether the plan works, and a change of approach if not

Sexual health care in Dubai and the UAE

Why not buy tablets online in the UAE?

A regional survey of 1,008 men cited by the UAE expert panel on erectile dysfunction found that 84.1 percent of men using erection tablets had bought them without a prescription, more than 8 in 10, and only 38.1 percent of the users had erectile dysfunction at all (Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare, 2025). The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has warned against sexual enhancement products that contain undeclared sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil, because of the risk of a severe fall in blood pressure (Khaleej Times).

Are sex therapy and pelvic floor physiotherapy available in Dubai?

Yes, sex therapists, couples counsellors and pelvic floor physiotherapists work in Dubai, and the membership coordinates referrals to them. Dr Felix stays your main doctor throughout.

Dr Felix treats within the scope of his Dubai Health Authority licence. When a case needs a specialist view, for example a penile curvature, an abnormal prostate finding or heart disease that limits exertion, the treatment decision is made together with a urologist or cardiologist.

  • People with more than one sexual problem, for example low desire with pain or erection problems with early ejaculation.
  • Couples where both partners have a difficulty or where desire differs.
  • People on testosterone, HRT or erection tablets who want regular reviews with one doctor.
  • People for whom a prescription alone has not worked.
  • Chest pain or breathlessness on exertion: heart assessment before any erection tablet.
  • Bleeding after sex or after menopause: assessment first.
  • Loss of interest in everything, not only in sex, or thoughts of self-harm: assessment the same day.
  • Sexual activity under pressure or a history of abuse: support comes before a treatment plan.

Program Structure & Follow-Up

How long does the membership take?

The Sexual Health Membership runs for months, not weeks. Most sexual problems improve over a period of trial and adjustment, and saying so at the start prevents disappointment. Reviews follow the schedule of each part of the plan, with earlier appointments when something changes.

Benefits, Limits & Safety

What are the benefits of the membership?

The membership gives one doctor, one plan in the right order and fixed review points, so it is clear what works and nothing is started twice.

What are the limits of the membership?

The membership does not promise a quick fix. Sex therapy, physiotherapy and specialist care take place with the relevant professionals, coordinated by Dr Felix.

What you get

One plan across desire, arousal, erections, ejaculation and pain, in the right order.

How you are followed

A review point for each part, from 4 weeks after a medicine change to 3 months on testosterone.

When other care comes first

Heart symptoms, unexplained bleeding, severe low mood or abuse are assessed before sexual treatment.

Cost & Program Investment

What the Sexual Health Membership costs depends on the length of the membership and the tests needed. Dr Felix explains the figure in the first consultation before anything starts.
